The Brazilian Keratin Treatment - The Good, The Bad, and The Terrifying (3/2009 experience)

This video is about my experiment with the Brazilian Keratin Treatment (BKT) on one section of my hair back March of '09. I did not just recently apply this treatment. The BKT is a treatment that utilizes a strong chemical in conjunction with heat to loosen kinky/curly and wavy hair. The liquid is blow-dried and then flat-ironed (I like to say "baked") into the hair. I can't believe I once didn't think it was a problem to need a gas mask and goggles for a hair treatment! It looks ridiculous looking back on it. Some people have had good experiences with it but I don't think it's worth the gamble. I hope this helps someone. Please do your research and make an informed decision. You can read some of the stories about this treatment here: www.oprah.com *BKT/formaldehyde was only in my hair in the "AFTER" video footage and photos* *I'm also wearing a cheap wig for the mask scene....So no I'm not frying my real hair LOL* Thank you for watching!
